WORLD WIDE MISSIONS The Lord Jesus Christ said, “..go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” Mark 16:15. Any where there are people there should be a preacher of the Gospel of grace. River City Baptist Church currently supports 20 different mission projects around the world. This ministry is primarily supported through Faith Promise Missions Giving. We currently give $9,600 a year to world wide missions and hope to increase that every year so that souls around the globe can hear about the work of Christ Jesus on the cross, and His glorious resurrection. Efata Ministries Efata was founded and pioneered by missionary Vernon Miller, who himself was deaf. Vernon worked to bring the Gospel to the Deaf for over 40 years as a missionary, first in Jamaica for four years and later in Peru where after marriage, he was later joined by his wife Velma. The Millers retired to the United States in September of 2000 after a very fruitful and pioneering work. Efata is under the watch-care and direction of missionaries Joe and Lisa Kotvas. The Kotvases have over 20 years of experience working with the Deaf and have been in Peru for over six years continuing and expanding upon the hope and vision that Vernon and Velma pioneered. The Kotvases are assisted by a dedicated staff who labor together as a team to educate, care for and reach deaf children and adults and their families with the Gospel. Efata Ministries is a forward-looking ministry whose mission team desires to make a difference among the Deaf not only in Peru, but also in all of Spanish speaking South America and beyond as God gives liberty and opportunity. Efata Home Page Efata's Adopt-A-Child Program LOCAL MINISTRIES SUNDAY SCHOOL We are excited about the Sunday School ministry at River City Baptist Church. We believe in the sound fundamental teaching of God’s Word, brings people to a greater knowledge of the God of the Word. Every Sunday morning from 10am-10:45 classes are divided and dedicated, knowledgeable teachers train those in attendance in the eternal truths of the Scriptures. Currently our Sunday School is divided into five classes. As our church grows we will be offering more. The classes are divided as follows; Nursery Ages- Birth – 3years Pre-Primary Ages - 4-6 Primary Ages 7-9 Juniors Ages 10-15 Adults Ages 16 & up KINGS KIDS Throughout the school year we have Kings Kids Club on Wednesday nights at 7pm for school aged children. They memorize scripture and learn songs. Every evening there is a challenge out of the Word of God. They enjoy games & activities as well. The children have the opportunity to move higher levels as they achieve. It is a joy to see young people come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and grow strong in His Word. SOUL WINNING We believe that Christ command to go into all the world includes our own area. It is God’s work to save souls; it is our job to give the good news of the gospel. This is done through door to door evangelism, and tract and Bible distribution. We also encourage the members of River City Baptist Church to witness and give out the gospel throughout the course of their daily lives. MENS BIBLE STUDY As a part of following the charge found in 2 Timothy 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. The men gather on Saturday mornings for breakfast and a time of training from the Bible. As seen in the example of Christ with His disciples, God develops a man into a leader then that leader helps develop other men into leaders and on the cycle is to go for the glory of God. WOMENS BIBLE STUDY In the spirit of Titus 2:3-4 “...that the aged women....be teachers of good things...that they may teach the young women” The Lord is developing ladies in our church to be teachers of good things. Ladies gather on Friday evenings for a time of Bible study, prayer and fellowship. RETIREMENT HOME Every month our Pastor holds service’s at Lincoln Apartments. This has been a great time of encouragement for the residents. Our ministry also reaches into Kelly’ Retirement Home as well as nursing homes such as Beverly’s and Mary House. We have not forgotten about these precious souls. HOSPITAL CHAPLAIN Our Pastor also volunteers as an on call chaplain at St. Mary’s Hospital. This gives an open door to minister to many people a time of need.
